“C’mon, Ranboo!” Tommy exclaimed from further up the dirt path.
“The lake monster will still be there in a few minutes, man,” Ranboo joked. Tall trees surrounded them as they hiked their way to the local body of water.
“Hey! We don’t know if it’s a monster, yet!”
“Sure,” Ranboo rolled their eyes as they finally caught up to Tommy. “Animal corpses start showing up around town, the fisherman can’t find any fish, boats are capsizing, and the tides are breaking records. Definitely not a lake monster.”

Summary
Ranboo had always enjoyed people-watching. They would sit in front of their school for what seemed like hours, watching as students and then teachers left for the day. After as long as he could risk waiting, they would begin walking home. And he was still people-watching here in a random café he walked into on a whim.
There, on the plexiglass barrier separating the kitchen from the rest of the store, was a poster that had the power to change everything.
Ranboo leaned down slightly to read the small print. All the details like location, date, and exact times were toward the bottom of the page. At the top in big bold letters stood out the words Fight Night. Without thinking, Ranboo looked up to try and meet someone nearby's eyes and question them about this event until his voice ran hoarse.
Or; Ranboo and Technoblade are both running from their pasts, and they find that martial arts provide an excellent escape.

Summary
As hard as they tried, the two of them slowly lost contact over the years. They both ended up moving away from their hometown and somehow managed to move to almost opposite sides of the country. Messages and calls were few and far between. As kids, they could never imagine not speaking to each other, but school and work just became so time-consuming that their friendship was put on the back burner until it was eventually left unchecked. It was nice to know that after all this time, they could still easily talk to each other.
Or, Tommy and Tubbo were childhood best friends that lost contact when they started college, but they happen to run into each other while they're home for the holidays.
