it was around four in the morning when thomas awoke to the sound of shattered glass. sitting up, eyes darting around the pitch black room, he listened intently, to the sound of voices, feet scampering around, items being knocked into. on his feet, he crept past his door, wandering down the large hallway, two voices beginning clearer. by the staircase he stood, back against the wall as he peeked down, the flickering of flashlights briefly illuminating the foyer.
"shit, he's fucken loaded. " the first voice whispered, a noticeable southern accent peaking through, the sounds glass was lifted up before moving around.
"i know," said another voice. he could practically hear the smile in this one's voice. "i told you i always have good hits. suckers not even here tonight too, so double win." hand were clapped together, rubbing against one another as more footsteps could be heard. "oh we are eating good tonight!"
