It sets his instincts on edge, mind flitting through his Marmora training, through all the possible explanations for what he sees before him.
“You’re—” Keith begins, mostly to himself. But as he considers the possibility of danger, it chases the last vestiges of sleep away and suddenly he feels himself jolt to full alert. Cautiously, he pulls away, hand ready to grasp for his knife under the bed, should the need arise. “You’re not Shiro.”
Or, time draws Shiro to Keith in ways he never knew possible.
