Summary
Ambessa’s thumb draws a slow, hot, unceasing line from Caitlyn’s cheek to the center of her cupid’s bow, and the many fine, married gears of her brain come to a grinding halt. The animal locked deep inside her body—starving-needy, sharp-toothed—resurfaces with an unbearable, unbalancing kind of hunger. Her chest is caving from the inside.
“You have potential, Kiramman,” says Ambessa, and just like that Cait’s young again, shrunk to size and aching all over with the opportunity to prove herself. Her spine wants to give out. I have so much potential. Ambessa pauses with her finger still to the commander’s lips and drawls, so close and quiet her breath ghosts over Caitlyn’s skin: “But you will only ever rise to the level of your... basest distractions.”

Violet stills. She seems to be chewing on the inside of her cheek as she studies Caitlyn’s face, her eyes uncannily clear and sharp. After a long moment, she says, “Until now.”

Summary
In the dim light Nancy has the glittering, smudgy beauty of an oil painting, shadows blurring the sharp angles of her face, eyes shimmering out of the darkness behind her. That stupid cross necklace winks against her white shirt. The whole pretty sight makes Robin’s pulse trip. Her heart stumbles right into her ribs, and yes, maybe her breath even catches in her throat a little at the flash of hunger she sees in Nancy’s gaze. It’s not like this is the first time she’s seen it, but that’s the thing about Wheeler: she never, ever gets tiresome.
Robin likes it the other way, too—soft and slow and blush-inducing for entirely different reasons. But she saw and felt, the second they fell into this back room, that Nancy wanted something else today.

Fez’s expression shutters, and he studies her with a carefully blank gaze. “A client,” he repeats, like he’s making sure, surveying her from head to toe. It should make her uncomfortable, shifty on her feet; it just makes her kind of singe and burn with desire, as always. “This ain’t the fuckin’ stationery store.”
“I’ve been here before, Fezco,” she says, rolling her eyes. “But this time it’s different. I’m here to get something and leave, like everyone else does.”
“Somethin’ like what?”
“Adderall.”
He mouths the word to himself, his lips moving silently (and Lexi wants to kiss him. Wants to know what his mouth feels like against her skin, what words he would whisper into her neck—). Then, “Fuck.”
“I have the money,” says Lexi, even though she knows that’s not the issue at all. It’s more how Fez is looking at her like she’s something he’s already mourning.
or, lexi's a private school girl, and everybody knows private school girls are bad (but she's pretty sure none of them fall in love with their drug dealers).
