Summary
A lot of workplaces saw a vampire feeding from a coworker similar to people dating. Therefore, similar regulations. Nothing really enforced on a federal or state level. In the PTMC, those regulations weren’t common. Then again, in the whole hospital, Dennis was one of two vampires. And the other had a blood letter. Dennis just had weird ass dive bars.

James Ogilvie has ambition. If only the people around him could see that. If the people in power at his ER rotation would just look at him, it would be even better. Doctor Robby didn't seem to take a liking to him, but he'd heard about Doctor Abbot. And now the man was in the ER. If only he could get his attention.

“Stop being so repressed," Eric says when Jack refuses to go to a party. "One day you’ll wake up and realize your whole life passed by without you having any fun. And I hope that day happens before you’re 80. Think about it.” Jack glares at his notes.
The comment still itches under Jack's skin after his last midterm is in. He doesn’t like overthinking. He wants to be free and try things. He's just too in his head. With that thought, it's like the universe hears him. Somehow that night, he finds himself stumbling into a predominantly gay party. While trying to push his comfort zone, he unexpectedly runs into his roommate.

Stretched out on the couch, Eric looked up from his bowl of cereal in both confusion and suspicion. “For what?”
“There’s this girl. She’s been bugging me for weeks now trying to get me to go out with her. Well, today…I panicked and told her that we’re a couple.”
“...that’s what you call panicking?”
“And I invited her to join us for movie night tonight.”
Eric finally stood up in indignation. “No! Not weekly movie night, man, that’s sacred!”
“I thought that if she saw it for herself, she would believe it and leave me alone!”
“See what? Believe what?! We aren’t a couple!”
Jack became hesitant. “That’s the thing: we’re gonna have to act like one.”

Jack is beside him, resting against the side of Eric’s bed, head tilted toward the ceiling, eyes reflecting the faint light of the old glow stars stuck to the ceiling. When they first arrived, Jack had set his bags down and immediately commented on the glow stars (“I can’t believe you have ceiling stars! I always wanted them when I was a kid.”).
