“Taehyun, I love you, but I can’t date you. We’re both boys, it’s a sin.” Taehyun nods, trying to swallow back his tears. “No, I get it.” Bitterness lingers on his tongue. He wants to act like he’s fine. But tears run down his cheeks before he can realize. “Please- please don’t cry. I’m sorry Taehyun.” Kai gently pulls him into a hug, which didn’t really help. It just made him cry more. Taehyun’s tears soaked Huening Kai’s shirt, somehow seeping through the cotton.

Beomgyu breaks the suffocating silence, clearing his throat, “So, would you mind going out with me?” Soobin quickly responds, “Yeah- yeah of course! I can go wherever you like, or whatever time-” He’s cut off with a chuckle from Beomgyu, “How about the bakery? Behind the school. Next Sunday morning, at 11.” Soobin urgently nods, the corners of his lips curled up.
Beomgyu asks, “What’s your number? So I could text you.” Soobin blinks, “Uh, do you have your phone on you?” He takes it out his jeans pocket and hands it to him. Soobin types in his number and keeps looking from Beomgyu back to his phone. He hurriedly gave his phone back. “Thanks for uh.. not rejecting me. I guess.”
Beomgyu looks at him, and Soobin felt it was getting awkward so he attempts to get himself out the situation, “I should get home now. Bye!” Beomgyu’s eyes follow him as he runs off onto the concrete sidewalk, head down and fingers gripping his backpack straps. Soobin on the other hand had felt a spark of hope in him as he sprinted away that his life could get better.
Except Beomgyu had never made it to the date.

Beomgyu's hand finally left the controller, landing heavy on Soobin's head, fingers tangling in his hair. "You're annoying," he countered, voice low, but there was no real bite to it. Soobin grinned up at him, and then, quick as a snake, he sank those teeth into the meat of Beomgyu's thigh.
Beomgyu's entire body jerked, a sharp inhale cutting through the room. "What the fuck," he hissed, finally looking down at Soobin, who was already pulling back, lips slick with mischief. Beomgyu had expected more whining, maybe a dramatic sigh but not this, not teeth, not the smug look Soobin was giving him.
"You bit me," Beomgyu said, incredulous, fingers tightening in Soobin's hair.
"Yeah," he said, like it was obvious. "You weren't giving me attention."

At the start, it wasn’t bad at all.
Soobin thought he might’ve even been in love with the younger man. After all, Beomgyu treated him so nicely. He bought him presents, gave him lots of physical affection, took him out on nice dates, and complimented him often. Soobin was happy.
That’s the love bomb phase, his psychiatrist told him. He’s manipulating you into being in a relationship with you so he can control you.
Soobin wished he would’ve noticed the warning signs earlier.
