Summary
Does forgetting something means it never happened? It sort of feels like it, but Owens said that the memories are meant to come back, right? Whether he wants them to or not, they’ll start to trickle in until he’s drowning in them. He doesn’t want to remember, of course he doesn’t, but doesn’t he deserve to know what he’s been through as if he’s actually been through it? Even worse, what does it mean if his memories don’t come back? He’s just too weak to handle them, too fragile to know what to do with himself. How long until he forgets everything else? What happens when he forgets himself?

Summary
The vines cut deeper and the spurs near his hands start tearing through his fingers as well. They’re trembling and the pain is blinding. The hot tears that’ve been welling up in his eyes spill out as he screams out fuck! but Will Byers, Zombie Boy, keeps being brought back to life to die again and again. As long as they’re both alive, Will will never be granted the luxury of death, just the agonising feeling of chunks of his flesh being dug out and stripped from his bones. He’s not allowed to die, he wants to die, he can’t die. There’s only one thing he can do: Will meets His eyes and chokes out, “Henry.”

Summary
Because Mike’s leaving, because he has to grow up eventually no matter how much he loves feeling like a teenager. Maybe he lost a bulk of his youth, but that’s his burden to bear; time doesn’t stop for anybody, no matter how much you feel like you’ve lost. Time’s a cruel master, and Mike knows that August will come faster than anyone would like. He should like it, but the thought of leaving twists his stomach in knots. It should be exciting to finally be free. Thinking about it makes him want to throw up.
So he won’t think about it, not tonight. He won’t always be there, no matter how badly he wants to, but Mike’s spent his whole life pretending, especially when it comes to Will. What’s another hour more? And so, he looks. He looks when he knows it’ll ruin everything, and he looks when he knows that Will wouldn’t mind at all. Two contradictory truths can coexist, after all. He looks surreptitiously, because he knows what would happen if either of them got caught looking.

Summary
His worst habits, his deepest insecurities, his first case- the shadow lingering behind him, pulling him underneath rough waves as his head bobbed and lungs filled with gushing, invasive water- it was all just backstory. A backstory to watch him teeter over his limits but never quite allowing him to fall- a coin pusher in an arcade, people loitering over it, waiting for the moment he’ll collapse. Except he never does, it’s part of Team Danganronpa’s parlour tricks. And yet he was still luckier than half his friends; to live an imagined life of contrived misery and to die in a terrarium was the kindest outcome for people like them. Danganronpa characters weren’t made to do much else except die.
In a world he was never meant to exist in, Shuichi wonders if the people who died before the option was in their own hands got off easier.
