Summary
The band secured a contract from EMI; John, Paul, and George have managed to rent a flat together; and that's about as far as the list of lucky breaks goes. John and Paul are trying to navigate a world opposed to their relationship, EMI wants a new drummer, and George is inexplicably suffering from constant nightmares. It's confusing and tiring and worrying, but they don't have much of a choice except to figure it all out. It's a good thing they have each other.

Not much had changed since Monroe's hunters invaded Beacon Hills. Theo tried integrating himself into the McCall pack over the last few years, but had little luck. When the Monkees find unexpected fame from an unexpected music industry manager, things seem great. They are playing concerts at the biggest venues, selling out and even planning their world tour. Everywhere they go they're flooded with fans, and everything they do is broadcasted on television every Saturday night. So when Davy rejects one of many girl's requests to date him, nothing should've gone wrong. No. But a series of creepy and violent events leave Davy in more danger than ever. Through concerts and singing, being beaten up and stalked, Davy will find himself closer to one of his best mates than ever before... and can the others save his life before it's too late?
This story goes through the slow build up of the Monkees' rise to fame, and will focus on Mike and Davy's relationship as they navigate their new stardom and deal with one crazy girl ruining Davy's life. Their love is quite the slow burn to make it more realistic and enjoyable, and remember it's the 1960's so there's a lot of internal and eventually external homophobia our boys will have to deal with. Plenty of Micky and Peter in this story too. They're really supportive friends.
