Morty was a lost soul before he came to live with his grandfather. Now he's living life to the fullest, indulging every lush fantasy he's ever had. If only he could fill the emptiness in his heart with just drugs and sex the way Rick seems to be able to.
Now Rick has turned his eyes to the Citadel and the power and riches to be found in the Central Finite Curve for the man who dares to reach for it. There's no room for error in a plot that involves toppling the Citadel's number one designer drug baron.
Morty knows just how badly he needs Rick. Will Rick understand how badly he needs Morty before it's too late?

Summary
Rick R-1761 has been a prisoner in a Citadel brothel for nineteen months. He has been tortured. Dismantled. He's barely human anymore. When his Morty appears one day determined to save him, Rick's world only falls further apart. Can Rick be made whole again? Can a love interrupted flourish once more? Morty isn't sure, but he isn't going to give up.
Excerpt:
Rick blinked down at his hands, struck dumb by the generosity of the reward. All he had to do was what he was already planning to, and he would get a window? He had stopped even asking for one ages ago, once he had finally understood that sunlight wasn’t for him anymore, just like everything else he had so vainly wanted at the time. Rick’s eyes darted up to catch a quick flash of Madam’s face. It was pointless to try and read the truth in his features, but Rick always tried, anyway, telling his own fortune by the color of Madam’s eyes and the slant of his cruel smile.

Summary
Rick had vanished, and Morty had been in denial about it. He figured his grandfather had gotten side-tracked on a solo adventure or had gone on a bender, or both. It wasn’t unlike Rick to do either, nor was it unlike him to be gone without so much as an explanation. It wasn’t until he found the empty portal gun lying discarded in the backyard that he began to doubt. Furthermore, in his grandfather's absence, strange things began to happen around Morty. Were they related to Rick's disappearance or part of something much more insidious?

"I'm in fucking space prison, Morty. You'd know that if you weren't living under a rock. Didn't they have my mugshot plastered all around the goddamn news?"
"You said... you said you were going to get ice cream."
"Yeah well..." Rick sighs. "Things don't always go to plan."
After hearing the tone of his voice, Morty confirmed the one scenario he couldn't help thinking about on sleepless nights. No one could really catch Rick Sanchez. Which left him with one possibility: Rick gave himself up.
Morty collapses back on the bed. His body suddenly felt heavy and he didn't trust himself to keep sitting up. He turns to the side, holding the phone close to his ear.
"I wished you could have told me what was the plan in the first place."

Rick calls Morty at the middle of the night while he's in space prison. Let's just say Morty's very persuasive in motivating his grandpa to orchestrate a little prison break.
