Will Byers knows one thing for sure.
He will never be normal. He has known for a long time now. Whether it is because a spider bit him 3 years ago or just the fact that he doesn't really like what normal persons like. Living a double life is hard, but he manages, he actually just want to survive college.
Really thats all.But then there comes Mike Wheeler with his damn smile and that stupid guitar, completly turning his world upside down. And as much as Will tries not to love this boy, he already sees himelf falling off a cliff he wont be able to climb back up.
But is Will ready to sacrifice everything for someone he loves?

It should be good that he's finally moving on, but it's unnerving, to say the least, and Will has a strange feeling settling in the pit of his stomach."

Summary
At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.

Summary
Mike Wheeler is coming apart at the seams.
Home is no longer a place he wants to return to, his friends are slipping out of reach, and the numbness he carries feels heavier than grief ever did. Paired with a lost friend on an English project, Mike is forced into a quiet, uncomfortable proximity with the past he’s been avoiding.
Their time in the library is strained and careful, marked by silences. Mike doesn’t ask the right questions. He doesn’t look too closely at his own unraveling. He just keeps moving, even as the ground beneath him disappears.
As nights grow colder and choices grow more desperate, Mike finds himself pushed farther from home than he ever meant to go. In a town full of ghosts and half-forgotten dreams, two boys circle each other in the aftermath of everything they’ve lost, both convinced it’s safer not to want too much.
Some lights are meant to stay distant. Others refuse to go out
