Pt. 2 of The Unveiling of a Dying Star
Ratio stopped in the hallway, far down it, as if tucking himself away from the people who bled out from the ballroom. His back faced Aventurine, dimly lit by the lights, and Aventurine briefly had to wonder if this was a nightmare. If he approached Ratio now, would he attack him? Try to hurt him like he had in previous dreams? Or would he do it on his own volition?
The doctor dipped his head back, sipping directly from a bottle of something, and when he turned, shooting Aventurine a glance, the gambler realized a couple of things:
Ratio was drinking his favorite drink. His hair had gotten longer. There were bags under his eyes and hair fallen over his face that he made no effort to fix.
Aventurine stepped closer to him, appropriate.. Conversation length, and instead of smelling of human being – attractive, masculine, yet equally domestic smelling of cashmere and cotton.. He smelt of booze.

Summary
Everything Aventurine said and did was to elicit another response with which he could construct his profile on Dr. Veritas Ratio. Naturally, Veritas left their first interaction as quickly as he could for his own safety.
But he slept with Aventurine a week later.
After Aventurine is hospitalized, Dr. Veritas Ratio moves to the Intelligentsia Guild’s Pier Point location to monitor his recovery. There, Veritas learns two things:
1) He might need help navigating the social circles in Pier Point.
2) A fully recovered Aventurine of Stratagems is a force to be reckoned with.Series

Summary
They kissed maybe the third or fourth time they met. Slept together the time after that. That was the first time. The second came soon after that, then the third, fourth, fifth.
Their formula was quick and rough. They weren’t kind to each other. They weren’t gentle. Aventurine liked it that way. He was content with it, he was, but now Ratio is soft with him, and Aventurine likes that so much more. It’s terrifying.
