The world ended a while ago when Earthbread was engulfed in darkness, but it only really ended for fire spirit when he locked eyes with Night Raven instead of Wind Archer, along with an arrow struck through his ribs.
And like that, died Fire Spirit, leaving behind Lord of Ash to deal with the remains of his life and the love that never died, The one and only thing the arrow spared.
Even if who he loves should've bore the colours of green, not purple.

He cussed a bit, forcing his eyebrows together as he attempted to focus on anything but the flooding memories.
"If you... ask any of this again tomorrow..." Wind remembered to have spoken, gripping the pillow with trembling hands and a soft gaze: desire. A feeling that even if he knew to have, he would not allow to be consumed knowing Fire wasn't sober. He wouldn't touch him ever like this. "When you are sober..." Fire's eyes were on him, piercing through his thoughts intently. "I will grant you anything."
"Anything?"
"Anything."

“Okay,” Will says, and throws the door open. “Surprise!”
Mike opens his eyes. Then–
“Will,” he says, and it comes out a bit strangled. “Is that a puppy?”
This is a bit of a stupid question. Mike isn’t dumb. He knows what a puppy looks like. The thing in Will’s hands– a little wrinkled and brown and very covered in fur– is definitely a puppy.
Will brings home a dog. It goes about as well as expected.

Will’s baffled expression does not change. “Then why would I be?”
“So– okay, fine, whatever. Should we, like, tell them to get their heads out of their asses and that we’re not– um– dating, or–”
“I think,” Will cuts in, “well. You know what would be funny?”
Honestly, Mike doesn't know what he thought being Will Byers' fake-boyfriend would entail, but he definitely didn't think it would involve this many ugly Christmas sweaters.
