Summary

"Steady now, Master Elf, do not swoon."
"Tis not my first arrow." Legolas snapped, irritation beating back the pain, and opened his eyes to see the hobbits exchanging quick looks. "You irk me on purpose." He realised, and then inhaled sharply as the pressure increased.
"I thought it might keep you awake." Gimli admitted.

Legolas is wounded before they even reach the Misty Mountains. It brings the company together.

Summary
Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas are hunting the band of Uruk-Hai that have kidnapped Pippin and Merry. They are forced to stop because Legolas has an injury, much to the elven prince's dismay. Luckily Aragorn is there with teasing and mothering and repressed feelings to make it all better.

Summary
Fool of a Took seemed to be the enduring muttered mantra of the Fellowship, at least where Gandalf was concerned. It was entirely possible that the others thought it in their hearts– certainly not his fellow hobbits, but perhaps the Men that were sworn to follow Frodo into fire and flames, the grumbling dwarf, and the strange elf who spoke rarely and blinked even less. Pippin tried not to let it prick his heart: he knew this quest was something far beyond his understanding of the world, knew that truly realizing it would warp his brain in ways that could not be undone, knew that, after all, he was just a simple hobbit who had quite literally stumbled into saving the world. He could quell the pinpricks with those thoughts.
Before Moria, of course. Before knocking the helmet down the well. Before the balrog.
(In which Legolas has a bad time, Pippin has even worse time, and the fellowship finally gets around to talking about the balrog incident, though not before Legolas and Pippin run into trouble in the woods.)
