Summary
“How are we planning to escape, exactly? Cuz we have basically no idea where we are and we’re the only team here. And our strategist,” he emphasizes the word enough that Tim rolls his eyes (painfully, because concussion, woohoo), “is stuck in the Alcatraz version of handcuffs. Who the hell’s gonna help us?”
“People escaped Alcatraz.”
“Yeah, and then they died two seconds later.”
"Technically we don’t know that.”
“I heard they ran away to Argentina.”

Summary
Tim leans back, pale-faced and sweating profusely at this point. His breaths come out in little hitches, eyes wide like plates as he stares up toward the moon, and tears that he doesn’t even seem to notice trail down over the curves of his white cheeks.
“Won’t be as bad if I d-die, not like you, but-”
Freeze frame. Rewind. What the everliving ungodly fuck did this kid just say?
[Jason comes upon an injured Tim who’s too sure of his own impending death. Not very long ago, this would’ve been cause to celebrate.] -

Summary
Jason’s hands snap around Tim’s throat.
His thumbs dig in, finding soft give under the suit, pulse fluttering wildly against his palms.
The world narrows to pressure and heat and the sickening familiarity of it — how easily it fits. How right it feels in the worst possible way.
The Pit roars back to life in his veins, screaming finish it.
····•····
The anger hits him like a wave, sudden and relentless. “You made me do that,” he says, voice low, raw, and embarrassingly— shaking. “You made me hurt you. Again.”
Tim meets his gaze, eyes soft, apologetic, steady despite the bruises and the fatigue. “I meant none of it, Jay — none of it.”
Jason flinches at the nickname, the intimacy striking him wrong in the middle of chaos. “…Did you? Because some of it felt real.”
•··········•··········•
A mission gone wrong forces Jason to prove he and Tim aren’t allies — by hurting him convincingly enough to keep them both alive.
