Summary
Bucky Barnes has a lot to contend with in the 21st century. One difficult task after another is laid out in front of him: managing his new found freedom, attending therapy and working through his trauma. It's a struggle, but recovery is not a straight line, as his therapist so often likes to remind him.
He has to navigate this friendship / relationship / whatever it is with Sam all the while managing his guilt and shame for his years as the Winter Soldier, and his grief over Steve's death. Then of course there’s these new super soldiers that have appeared out of nowhere that have to be dealt with, along with the frustrating inclusion of new faces, like Walker, and the familiar, like Zemo.
And then there is another task, one that sometimes seems to be the most difficult task of all: learning to be kind to his past self.
Rewrite / fix it of TFATWS – you do not need to read the other parts of this series, this works as a standalone. Pre TFATWS to about three months after the series ends. Not just a rehash of the TV series, I like to bounce off canon and do my own thing. I generally update fortnightly.

Of course, that was before the gunfight, witnessing a shooting, and being kidnapped by a strange, blue-eyed gunman named James Bond.

“You look stupid.” Bucky says.
Not quite anticipating the gibe, Sam’s face heats up. He takes the glasses off, but not before making sure to dramatically roll his eyes in a way Bucky won’t miss. “Here, you put them on, then.”
He places the glasses on his nose, and fuck. Yup, Bucky definitely looks much better in those things than Sam ever would.
Of course, that’s not something he’ll admit easily, so instead he says: “You look dumb.”
Bucky lightly pushes him. “You’re intolerable, Cap.”

“Erm, Jayce… you know that’s a fake plant, right? It is made of plastic.”
“What?!”
In which Jayce has been watering a fake plant in their shared laboratory for the past half a year and Viktor slowly catches on. Jayce decides to name the plant, claiming they’ve adopted it and must raise it together. Far too attached to the piece of interior decor, Jayce picks up a few textbooks on botany, seeking to cure it’s blatant lack of growth. Viktor has to either break the news that their dear peperomia albovittata is fake… or venture to the undercity to purchase him a replacement.

Six years later, Hiccup has royally fucked up– Hiccup has severely underestimated Drago, and now Hiccup is cramped, tired, hungry, without his prosthetic, and he really, really, really misses Toothless.
Imagine his surprise (read: complete and utter dread) when he wakes up one day to see absolutely none other than Astrid Hofferson, Snotlout Jorgenson, Fishlegs Ingerman, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston sitting in the cell across from him.

In which Q is seven, Bond is very much out of his element, and the world is about to get a taste of what a child super-genius can do when he only trusts one person. Period.
James Bond was used to dealing with two things, generally: guns, and people trying to shoot him with guns. Usually, the second was a problem, and could be solved with the first. Kids were neither as dependable as guns, nor was it socially acceptable to shoot them if they became threatening.
And how funny was it that one of Britain's best agents was more terrified by having to deal with a seven-year-old enigma than he was of facing a score of enemy sharp-shooters?
