Summary
The realtor said the last residents had only been in the house for a day and didn’t have time to clean the place up. Mobius isn’t sure if anyone’s actually lasted long enough to get past the unpacking part, but he’s always enjoyed a challenge.
Which is why bought the house in the first place. Taking himself and all of his belongings across a continent to move in without ever actually stepping inside until now.

There’s a house across the street that Don isn’t sure was there the day before.
Not that he’s made a habit of looking too closely at the houses surrounding his. The grass always looks more even and the paint is always a bit brighter. Sue him, he’d rather protect his peace of mind over the insidious comparative nature of midwestern suburbia. So, in the long run, anything strange about the house across the street could be nothing more than re-painted doors or maybe a new bush on the lawn.
So, that’s probably it.
