Dick could still see it: The way Jason had gone feral, body rigid, shift washing over him, sharpening his nails to claws. Batman coming down from the rafters, taking Jason down. The absolute terror on Jason's face when he'd come back to himself, unable to make his limbs move with Batman's teeth on his neck, forcing his submission. Dick knew that in wolf gangs fights for dominance were commonly ended with teeth on necks, knew that rogues used it on their victims and some parents on their children. But for all that Dick had spent half his childhood under the roof of a wolf shifter, had fought rogues for most of his life, he had never seen a submission bite outside of a scene. He didn't know how to make this right, but he couldn't not try.

Summary
Finding Jason under a truth spell was infinitely preferable to the alternatives that had raced through Dick's mind when he got the distress signal. Still, to balance the spell he had to spill some of his own secrets and while he'd do anything to keep Jason out of pain, he didn't exactly keep secrets for fun.

Main story: It's the Tetrawizard Tournament, but Ed is actually more interested in the Hogwarts library. Those pesky tasks are just getting in the way of his research. Also a Yule Ball. Who came up with this again? Anyway, between the Tournament, NEWT preparations (because not even a champion is exempt from those), his research into a cure for Al and his giant if inconvenient crush on one Roy Mustang, their unfairly hot and competent trip supervisor, his year has a bit more excitement than he signed up for. Oh and apparently this Tournament is a giant murder plot, as if he didn't have enough on his plate already.

With shaking hands he stabs at the buttons, missing once, twice, and he has to force himself to take several deep breaths to subdue the panic. A very deliberate, controlled motion lets him pop up the contact details of the text with the intention of auto-dialing the number, and he does a double-take because the number associated with the text isn’t Amelia’s.
But he does know whose number it is.
