Summary
Ruth, bored one day, decides to take all those old locomotive parts she's been collecting and use them for something. She's going to build herself a proper car out of them. A unique sort of car made entirely of steam locomotive parts! After putting all those parts together, however, she is rather surprised to find that she didn't just make a car out of train parts. Oh no. She accidentally created LIFE. And now, she's a mother. Uh oh.
She finds, however, that this situation isn't nearly as scary as it may sound. In fact, she finds it delightful to be a mother to this new life she names 'Cleo'. Everything from the happy lessons about the world around them, to the terrifying moment of coming face-to-face with the express, to the sad times of questioning what kind of engine she is. And Ruth is proud to be there for all of it.
OR, that Ruth-and-Cleo-centric story that literally NO ONE was asking for. I'm the one person in the fandom who actually likes Cleo, so here we are. Have a 9k+ word long monster.
