Tonight was meant to be a relaxed night, an evening where the older kids could unwind, but there's an unshakable Finality to it. Jonathan and Argyle are shipping back to California in a few days, and it's a matter of weeks before Robin and Nancy head east for college. Steve's parents at last sold the house (well under asking, his mother loves to remind him) so he's crashing at Eddie and Wayne's Bright Shiny New Ranch House for the foreseeable future. Steve's chest sinks. He's never going to be with these people, in this place, ever again.

Summary
“I just need to know what happened, the truth of it,” is Wayne’s simple plea.
Steve shakes his head, heart in his throat, all he can say is, “Wayne, I would never hurt Eddie, I’m— I love him.”
Wayne doesn’t seem surprised by that at all, just calmly counters, “Don’t you mean loved?”
Or, Wayne gets suspicious about what really happened to Eddie when he notices that Steve Harrington keeps taking his mugs.

Summary
The first thing Steve removes from his room is the random framed photograph of a car.
Before Steve realizes what he’s doing, he’s snatched that photo off the wall. It comes off easily, the only thing holding it in place is a nail haphazardly hammered into the wall. Picture in hand, Steve doesn’t pause to think, letting his body take over as he rushes down the stairs.
Steve stalks downstairs, wrenches open the back door, and smashes that obnoxious picture to the ground.
Or, Steve hates his room. He decides to change that.

Summary
“Let’s get this over with.” Steve mutters, setting his shoulders and planting his feet.
Out of the corner of his eye, Gareth can see that Wayne is watching their standoff with a calculating expression.
“We’re airing this out and moving on. And we are going to do it before Eddie gets home.” Harrington states with a finality that sets Gareth’s teeth grinding. As if Steve is the one who’s more concerned about their friend’s feelings than Gareth is at this point.Or
Gareth has had just about enough of Steve Harrington in the fall of '86. He sets about to do something about it. It takes an angry mob, a Corroded Coffin gig and a baseball bat full of nails for him to change his mind.
Gareth gets mad, Eddie gets beat up, Steve gets violent and Wayne is just really tired of everyone's shit.
