“I’m sorry,” Soobin said as he placed a sytrofoam cup of black coffee between Yeonjun's feet and tried not to react to the way cigarette smoke stung his throat. “I shouldn’t have come to your house without asking. We’re coworkers and I completely stepped over—”
“No, you didn't. You didn’t do anything wrong... Listen, I–'' There was a heavy weight to Yeonjun’s voice suddenly, but Soobin didn't waver. “I didn’t want you to see any of that. I didn’t even want you to know where I live. Because I don’t– I just don’t want you to think of any of that stuff when you think of me. I don’t want you involved in any of that stuff.”
“Because we’re just coworkers,” Soobin attempted to clarify.
“No, not because of that.”
Yeonjun and Soobin meet the fall after they graduate from the same high school when Soobin picks up a part-time job at the worst coffee shop in town. Soobin is shy, sensitive, and quiet. Yeonjun is brash, loud, and guarded. Soobin's not Yeonjun's type. Soobin hates the Yeonjun from high school. So, why is Soobin the first person who catches Yeonjun when his life falls apart?

Soobin places a finger on his chin and spends a good half-minute or so sucking his teeth before finally spitting out an answer. "Uhm… well, where exactly does having a Spotify playlist of songs dedicated to our past relationship, which I still listen to religiously—while crying, by the way, write that down—okay, on second thought: don't—and maybe sometimes—okay, most times—while going through our old conversations in my head fit into that scale?"
Yeonjun responds with a sympathetic nod, and is just about to shade in the appropriate number on the survey sheet when something stops him in his tracks, causing him to dramatically furrow his brows and ask, “Wait a minute, did you just say Spotify?”

Soobin leans a bit towards Yeonjun – and there's his signature smirk again, the one that makes Yeonjun's heart kick into overdrive (out of anger, of course), and he just can't help himself from saying what he does next.
"You just want to kiss me sooo bad, don't you?" Yeonjun blurts out, and it surprisingly comes out a lot more confidently than he thought it would. Emboldened, he leans into Soobin's personal space, his gaze taunting as he waits for Soobin's response – and oh. This is so much better than he ever could've expected.

Same stranger that somehow ended up being the songwriter and producer CSB also known as Choi Soobin, the alpha he was supposed to work with for the next weeks.
