Summary
He breaks away from Brian's grip, walking steadily towards Ivy and Raphaella. Ivy glances up, smiling at him, and she starts to say something, but it’s cut off by his hand curling around her neck. He savors the crunch of her windpipe beneath his fingers, blood staining the shiny metal, dripping onto her blouse. He hears Ashes swear from where they’re standing nearby, but no one makes any move to stop him.
He lets Ivy’s body fall, her neck already starting to repair itself, knitting together. He turns to face Raph, and the pity and understanding in her eyes almost makes him sick again.
“Fuck you,”

It hadn’t been easy acclimating to the Mechanisms--The wild violence, the corroded morals, the incessant musical outbursts. Any sane person would have been crushed under the pressure, or run away screaming. But Lyffrasir Edda’s mothers hadn’t raised a quitter, and it had been years since anyone had called them sane. Eventually everything…settled. There were still steps back, especially being the only mortal in the midst of 9 immortals who have known eachother for millennium.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
