Across from him, Kun doesn't flinch. He leans his head back against the headrest, and when he rolls his neck to look at Ten, his gaze is steady.
“I was,” he says simply, and for one incomprehensible, hysterical moment, Ten almost wishes he had said I still am instead.

I missed you, Kun had said, even when they were an arm’s length apart. That part, Ten thinks, is true. And suddenly, and even though he’d been thinking about its impossibility, about its ridiculousness, all Ten can think is I missed you, too.
Maybe Kun senses it. Maybe he doesn’t. Either way, Kun looks at him for as long as he dares to keep his eyes off the road, and Ten sees an expression he doesn't recognise cross his face before Kun turns away, eyes fixed firmly ahead.
“Yeah,” Kun says. “Yeah, you are.”

It was hard to ignore. The way Keeho was managing to bleed his way into his life.
Tuesdays and Thursdays Keeho picked him up from Korean History class and they went to lunch. Wednesdays and Fridays they took the bus together and Keeho would walk him to his lab, where he’d greet Taeyang before leaving. Weekends they’d get dinner or study together or Keeho would show up to the end of dance troupe practices, hanging around to see Intak and Youngbin and Taeyang hyung. Every part of Jiung’s life was starting to move and shift and make way, allowing a perfect little gap for Keeho to slip into, to make himself comfortable.
And maybe that was what Jiung was most afraid of.

Impediment: A hindrance or obstruction in doing something
Every soul who enters the Ground has an Impediment, or something that hinders them from reaching the afterlife. For most, it is relatively easy to receive the closure they need and move on to their final destination. For others, like Park Sunghoon, it's a bit harder than that. When he enters the Ground with no memories of his life or how he died, Sunghoon is unable to overcome his Impediment and becomes stuck in the Ground as a grim reaper, helping others passing through find peace. He has no hope of overcoming his fate until a certain soul comes along and turns the place upside down.
While the residents of the Ground scramble to solve the mystery of how their paths are intertwined, there is more happening in the living world than what meets the eye...
