That brought Jason up short. His mind was static, and he gritted out: “Whatever. I want it gone.”

Summary
The fight in the warehouse at the docks hadn’t gone terribly (none of them had ended up in the bay again at least, not even Replacement with his absolute talent for that sort of thing) but Jason couldn’t honestly say it had really gone according to plan, either.
Weeks of gathering intel, boots on the ground, tracking down leads, coordinating with the Bats and Oracle (Bruce off world with the League) to plan for this confrontation and Jason nearly sank the whole damn operation, all on his lonesome. All it took was someone hitting one of the damn triggers in his head and some bad luck (did he really have any other kind, though?) and Jason had found himself pinned in a very tight spot.
Dick was going to be so pissed.
Jason loves Dick, Dick loves Jason. This does not necessarily preclude them from occasionally wanting to kill each other.

Dick sighs, because he likes to argue, but not about shit like this. It’s poking right at the edge of Dick Grayson’s neurotic need to control, to hold safe and secure and keep close, and Jason Todd’s frantic, clawing, inescapable need to run away. It’s a little too close to home for both of them, and it’s all from a place they both understand.
Neither of them will prod too hard at that.

The lady at the counter curiously glanced over before lifting a questioning brow. “My brother – half-brother, technically, I have much better breeding – decided to run away from home to where our father can’t reach him and now he won’t leave. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!”
Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy.
“I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory.
“Aha!”

When Jason discovers that he's been given a fake phone number that belongs to a man by the name of Dick Grayson, he's disappointed but not surprised. However, what starts out as another letdown in his life unexpectedly turns into something more as the calls between him and Dick continue to occur. Eventually, talking on the phone with Dick becomes a welcomed part of Jason's life, but the more time passes, the more his past rears its head, complicating the present and marring the future, until both him and Dick are left to confront how far they're willing to go for each other. Or not willing to go.
