He laughs more. He hums while brushing his teeth. He sways a little when the kettle whistles, like there’s a song in his head no one else can hear. Sometimes he sings under his breath—love songs, mostly, the kind that make Nicholas’s chest tighten without knowing why. He tells himself it’s stupid to care. That it’s not about jealousy, or fear, or whatever fragile thing his heart is pretending not to feel. But the thought itches at him: if Euijoo’s happy, why does it feel like he lost something in the process?

It's why Euijoo is sprawled out on his bed, shirtless, a sheen of sweat catching in the late afternoon light. And it's why Nicholas can't stop looking at him. He tells himself it's just the way the sunlight falls, tracing the ridges of Euijoo's collarbones, the dip of his stomach, the rise and fall of his chest. But there's no use pretending. His fingers are already there, ghosting over the flat of Euijoo's belly as he absently scrolls through his phone, pretending he doesn't notice the way Nicholas touches him.

Something shifts, then. Inside of Euijoo. Around him. The entire world shifts, suddenly feeling so off-kilter that he feels slightly dizzy with it. Like it’s suddenly spinning on an axis that doesn’t exist.
No. This isn’t happening. This can’t be happening, because Euijoo has already seen that picture, 24 hours ago. He stared at it yesterday morning, while he was still fuzzy with sleep, feeling giddy over the slightly exposed skin. It’s not possible that he only just posted it, a mere two hours ago. Did he delete it, just to post it again? Maybe the engagement wasn’t as good as they had hoped, deciding to post it on a Saturday, instead?
Just as he’s about to click into the comments, to see if anyone is saying anything about the apparent repost, a notification comes through at the top of his screen.

He's been well trained, he supposes. He almost doesn’t notice when Harua touches the other members like he loves them. He tries desperately not to notice when Harua touches him.

“Sangwon-ah,” Leo calls again in which Sangwon makes a small noise in the back of his throat as if it’s a passable response, but Leo leaves it alone for now.
“S’mbarrasing, hyung,” Sangwon mumbles. His own words make him squeeze Leo’s wrist even tighter at the knees. His breathing slows, but the death grip on his shirt doesn’t let up.
