Summary
Killua is a sensitive person, contrary to popular belief.
Now, Killua would argue that it was caused by the abuse and lack of affection he had growing up. That there’s no way he, a Zoldyck, could be a sensitive person innately. That’s not who Zoldycks were, and that’s definitely not what he was taught growing up. So, why was Killua, the heir of the Zoldyck family business, an ex assassin, so weak?
(or, Gon comforts Killua after he cries which then leads to some interesting late night confessions).

Summary
“Gon…” Killua drops his head into the shallow water of the tide pool. Water splashes everywhere, his bangs getting soaked as they land directly into the pool. The movement hides his blazing red face. “You’re missing the point.”
“What point?”
Killua explodes, head snapping up to shout at Gon, “Merpeople mate for life, stupid! If—If you’re really serious about the courting thing, we would be together forever!”
(Or, Gon gives Killua a shell, not knowing that giving shells is akin to proposal in merpeople speak. Killua tries to give it back, and Gon wants to know why Killua doesn't want his gift.)

Summary
The mermaid stuck out a finned arm, and Killua noticed as webbed fingers extended, the tanned side sprinkled in tiny freckles and scales. Some of the webs between were split in the middle, similar to his fins. It was chilling how the alien, frightening features were easily overridden by his childlike inquisitiveness.
“Hi!” A high-pitched, jubilant voice called. “I’m Gon! I actually saw you before! Yesterday, when you arrived here with who I assume is your family? What’s your name?”
Killua gaped, too stunned to speak. He glanced at the mer—Gon, and then down at the extended hand. There were so many things going through his mind: Who are you? What are you? Do you live here? Mermaids actually exist?
He blinked, realizing the other was expecting a response, and snapped out of his daze. He quietly inhaled through his nose, reluctantly meeting his hand and shaking it. The hand was wet and slimy, but it also contained an odd source of warmth.
“Killua,” he breathed, mentally slapping himself for being so stupefied.

Summary
“I didn’t kill myself,” Gon says.
Killua jerks his head to give Gon a look. “Don’t joke about that. Come on, I need to know.”
“I really didn’t!” Gon insists. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Killua tugs on Gon’s wrist and they duck into the opening together. Nothing changes; Killua curses internally. He’d been hoping this door would be a portal to some other part of the dream world, but it seems he’d been afforded no such luck. Gon’s eyes glimmer dark in the low light.
Killua stares. “Why are you here, then?”

He hesitates for a moment before deciding it is too late to turn back. “Do you think, if we were to ever be separated for some reason, that we’d still be friends?”
Killua looks down at the grass below, praying what he asked wouldn’t be the wrong question. He knows his cheeks are painted a delicate scarlet and strays from glancing towards Gon, though he craves to see his reaction.
Gon hums softly for a moment before speaking up, voice appearing closer to Killua than before. “Killua, do you know I love you?”
Killua’s heart jumps to his throat in an instant and his neck nearly snaps in half from how fast he turns to face Gon, his entire face burning, ears tipped a rosy red. “You what?!”
