Summary
When Lex Luthor finally gains control of Superman, he doesn’t make him destroy the world. That would be a waste.
Instead, Lex removes the noise. The hesitation. The endless moral calculations that come with trying to save everyone. The noise.For a brief, impossible moment, Clark Kent experiences something he hasn’t felt since he became Superman:
Peace.
The Justice League breaks Lex’s control, the world celebrates, and the hero returns.
But Clark remembers.
And one night, exhausted by the weight of a world that never stops needing him, Superman flies to Lex Luthor’s penthouse. Not to threaten him.
To ask a question he’s afraid to say out loud... and Lex is waiting.

“I do my best,” Superman says, as if it is simple as that, and smiles again at Bruce, inhaling quietly as if preparing for a speech. His smile isn’t the blandly warm, public-facing smile from before. It’s personal, it’s disarming, and though Bruce hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, he thinks he understands what people mean when they say “he’s someone you either want to be with. Or be. Or both.”
Bruce Wayne goes on a Metropolis vacation, watches a local hero foil a purse-snatching, falls (literally) for Superman, and unknowingly sends Lex Luthor’s blood pressure skyrocketing when the whole incident is captured on video and goes extremely viral.

It wasn't the first time Alastor was trying to establish communication with the other side; he was a master at it by now. He had tried many times, with different sigils and rituals, but all of them had left him with empty hands. He just wanted to be able to make a deal so he could enjoy his afterlife, but instead, he ended up summoning a demon that is oddly fixated on him.
Or Alastor accidentally summons Vox for his deal, and now he has to deal with him.
