In some ways, it hardly felt as though much had changed since they left Amphoreus. Looking back on it, she almost felt she'd done more there, even stuck in her camera as she was — at least there, she'd been able to offer Stelle and Dan Heng some measure of comfort merely by reminding them of what they had to fight for! But, here…
Her camera had fallen by the wayside, and her, with it.
March has never been very good at being left alone. Amphoreus, in particular, left behind wounds that she's still recovering from. She's doing her best, but, alas... when the universe itself seems to be conspiring against you, there's only so much that you can do in response.

There was nothing else that mattered, in this moment. No life-threatening worries, no warring factions, no intersocial drama, nothing. Just March and Firefly, savoring each other — the former let out a soft sigh against Firefly's skin as she nestled her face into her neck, two-toned eyes sliding closed, letting her girlfriend's warmth curl around her, a comforting blanket, the kind that reminded her of quiet nights on the Express, curled up on the couch and watching a movie.
"I love you," March murmured against Firefly's skin, soft and breathy, almost drowsy in its gentleness.
"I love you too," Firefly whispered, smile obvious in her voice.
It's March 7th's special day! What better way to celebrate it than with the person she loves most in the world? Especially when that person (and also Stelle) have worked so hard to set up a nice birthday surprise for her.

Takes place in the "Moonlight and Sunrise" universe. Mostly intelligible without reading that first, but it is definitely recommended reading.

Summary
