Summary
Will nodded quietly. Normally the idea of getting close to someone new terrified him, but there was something about that boy that pulled at him. Something beyond curiosity. For some reason, Will could see parts of himself reflected in him in ways he never really had with anyone else. So, against his better judgment, he decided to take the risk.
“By the way... do you know D&D?”
“Dungeons & Dragons?” the other boy asked “I’ve heard of it, but I don’t really know much about it.”
“Oh. Right.” Will immediately looked down, embarrassed.
“But,” he interrupted quickly, “I’d like to learn. If you wanna teach me.”
And suddenly, Will found himself thinking about how strange life could be. Because just when he thought his world would stay exactly the same forever... He might actually be making a new friend. And for once, there were no supernatural monsters involved.

In the summer of 1985, Will Byers makes a new friend, one that is more like him than he could've imagined. This friendship might change a lot of things about how he sees himself and the world around him. Mike is not exactly thrilled about the idea, but he may learn some important things along the way.

Summary
“So,” Will prompts, when Mike still doesn’t offer up any information on the mysterious stack of papers tucked under his arm. “Are you having a party?”
“Oh, no,” Mike says, sounding like it might be the first time ever in his life that he is genuinely disappointed about this fact. He shifts and grabs the stack of flyers, sort of waving them through the air. “These are just for this game I play?” The inflection on the end of what should be a statement makes it sound more like a hesitant question.
“And in this one, you act like you’re… vampires?”
Or: To get out of the sexual rut he’s stuck in, Popular!Will gets dared to ask out Nerd!Mike and ends up attending a Vampire the Masquerade LARP where they proceed to put the ‘role-play’ into ‘live action role-play.’

Summary
For a long moment, it's quiet. Dustin's chest is heaving with the force of his words, and Will is… standing there, looking shell-shocked, with that barely disguised look of hurt that Dustin once swore he would never, ever inflict upon him.
"...so you think this is my fault?" When Will does speak, it's quiet, the words barely a whisper. Dustin's heart aches at the sound, but not enough to tamper the seeds of anger still sprouting in his chest.
"Think?" Dustin laughs mirthlessly. "Isn't it obvious? Somehow, for some reason, you're the root of everything we've been through. We've all thought it, we all know it, but nobody's been heartless enough to bring it up with you because they're all too busy coddling you instead. Tough luck, Byers, spending all this time being worried about me when you could've been taking some fucking responsibility and actually helping us put a stop to what you started."
