As an Alpha Prince set to inherit the throne, there were many things he had to do for the greater good. Things like learning the entire history of the Hido kingdom, diplomatic strategies, laws and rituals despite neither enjoying not being particularly good at any of the subjects. Things like sacrificing his privacy in order to gain the trust and support of his people. Things like settling for a future partner arranged for him to ensure the right families stayed loyal to the crown. This Jongin knew. But he had never imagined that he would have to marry the omega Prince of the Sokha kingdom, a kingdom they had been at war with for the past 5 years, to ensure peace between their lands.

Summary
It would be so much easier if things between them had never gone sour, if their friends could stop feeling like they’re walking on eggshells any time the two of them are brought up, if Euijoo’s heart doesn’t feel like it’s breaking all over again every time he looks at Nicholas. But nothing is ever easy when it comes to Nicholas––it’s one of the things that made Euijoo fall for him in the first place––and getting over him has proved to be the hardest.

Summary
The first time Euijoo comes to pick Seokryu up without Nicholas in the passenger seat, Jihye looks genuinely shocked.
“You know,” Euijoo says dryly, strapping Seokryu into her car seat, “Nicholas has a life outside of me, right?”
“Funny,” she says, “it doesn’t seem like he knows that.”
She gives him a look that makes him drop his eyes again, warmth at the tips of his ears. He escapes at a perfectly safe and reasonable speed limit, then sits in the car once he pulls into his apartment parking lot and boxes that thought away with all his other inconvenient thoughts.

Summary
Nicholas leans against the concrete wall by the station. He has to look up to meet Euijoo’s eyes, just a tiny lift of his chin. Euijoo keeps seeing the vague outlines of what Nicholas is thinking seconds before he even thinks it. In this industry—in this awful, vapid industry—it’s a virtue. Euijoo hasn’t spoken to someone this open, who makes him want to open up like this in years.
“I guess I just keep wondering,” Nicholas says, shy and unflinching in equal measure, looking right at him. “Does anybody really know you?”
