Will drops his jaw, offended. Sure, he might not have the most entertaining love life, but he wouldn’t go that far. He’s happy where he is. Content. He doesn’t need a guy to fulfill him. “My loneliness is completely bearable.”

I love you so much,” Will whispers, cradling his body to his chest.

“No, seriously,” he stresses, open and honest and pleading, like Will just isn’t getting something. “Nothing is wrong.”

Mike hates Valentine’s Day. It was fun as kids, when teachers would make every student decorate a little shoe box with pink and red heart stickers, that by the end of the day would be filled with cheesy Valentines and sweets.
But this isn’t kindergarten anymore— there are no school-enforced rules that his classmates have to give him a Valentine. He has to earn them. And he hasn’t.

Max didn’t ask why they were looking at each other like that, why Lucas’s lips were pursed, even though she wanted to—
“Erica, get the back door for him,” Mrs Sinclair said (for who?) and the girl stood up, darted to the door, nearly slipping on the rug on her way. The Sinclair parents were whispering quietly back and forth, and Max felt very, very out of place.

Summary
Immediately post-Season 4, the gang are catching up and reuniting at Hopper's old cabin. Mike, who's been on the edge of a panic attack for the past few days, excuses himself to get some 'fresh air'- unbeknownst to anyone but Joyce, who still isn't fully up-to-date on the Vecna situation. After about 30 minutes, the group notices his absence and are immediately concerned. They can't find Mike anywhere in the surrounding area, but they find the exact thing they were dreading; a small gate.
Mike finds himself in the Upside-Down, but the circumstances are strange. Vecna is nowhere to be seen and the area around him is completely barren. It's an elaborate plot to torment Mike with his greatest fears; forcing him to relive his own worst memories with his family and friends by his side.
How much could one kid have to hide, anyways?

“So… how did you know you liked boys?” Mike randomly asks Will one afternoon.
“How did I what?” Will swivels his head toward Mike, who’s looking back at him expectantly over the top of his comic book. He’s got on that thinking-face he does— the one that tells Will that Mike has definitely been staring at him for the past ten minutes minimum, trying to wrap his brain around some idea or another, like he’s working out a particularly difficult puzzle.
“Like, what do you like about them? Oh, come on, don’t look at me like that,” he complains, and Will assumes he must be making a face somewhere between skeptical and bewildered. “We never talk about it. Why is it boys for you?”

Summary
It is simply another school night. A totally standard evening in which Mike rots in his basement and suffers through homework and dreads doing it all again the next day. The only thing out of the ordinary is that he’s borderline-making out with one of his best friends (who happens to be a boy), but he’s acting very normal about this totally unexceptional circumstance.
He deserves an Oscar for this shit.
