They become very familiar with getting into trouble and getting out of it again (and not always with the help of their father’s pocketbooks, either). They are never far away from each other. Whether it’s because their families operate in the same circles, or because of their various academies, or just because they are oddly similar, Chi Cheng doesn’t know. All he knows is that Guo Chengyu’s presence in his young life was a constant, like the reliable ticking of an ancient clock.
