Summary
Kian Stone isn't waiting on anybody, least of all Rebecca Jones. They've already had their time, senior year in high school, a sad but neatly contained fling between the two best things to happen to Galloway. At least, that’s what they told each other, sitting underneath the lovers’ tree.
He doesn't call it waiting when he has her birthday in his calendar half a decade on. He doesn’t count the post-it-note next to her name in his contact book saying 'DO NOT CALL!' So what if he has a drunken stick-and-poke of her initials on his upper thigh? And so what if the tattoo is upside-down, facing him, so that when he looks down at his bare legs, it taunts him?
(It’s early November; it’s almost her birthday).
A snippet of Kian Stone, age twenty-three, and how he copes (or in this case, doesn't cope) with being alone and in love.

Summary
William should have known. He’s read every book on the occult, and watched more movies about the supernatural than he can count. Yet, no red flags had been raised when Vyncent started avoiding stroganoff more than usual, and flinched at sunlight, and freaked out over William’s band shirt with religious imagery on it.
They’re all strange, so why would this change be any different than the other billion things wrong with the Prime Defenders? But that’s just the thing, isn’t it–William spent far too long staring at Vyncent instead of actually looking.
OR: Vyncent gets turned into a vampire, and William has some incredibly strong, confusing, and bisexual feelings about it.

Summary
Sitting in front of Rand, hair still damp from dunking his head in the god-damned bayou, is Rolan Deep. He’s halfway to death, blood staining his suit jacket, arm in a cast, in a sling, inside his torn-up shirt sleeves. He looks just as scared as Rand feels, fingers twitching with nerves. It’s a familiar sight; he had the same habit in high school. Rand remembers kicking his shin under the table during DnD when the fidgeting pissed him off one too many times. He thinks he regrets it. Rand remembers shotgunning weed together on his twin-sized bed as an apology afterwards. He doesn’t regret that.
Rolan’s asked Rand to kill him, once this is over. Sure, he might be one of those bug-monster-things, but Rand looks in his eyes and sees the same boy he's missed all this time.
They’ve missed so much time, and Rand knows Rolan feels it, too.
Set early episode 4, after Rolan discovers he's... not quite human. This fic is a spiritual successor to Tim, I Wish You Were Born a Girl, but you don't need to have read that one for this to make sense.

Summary
The Hole in the Sea is cold. Or maybe it isn’t- Chip can’t feel much these days, anyway. Here, in the dark, in the thick blanket of silence, something sinks deep into the very core of Chip’s being. Something here weighs on Gillion and Gryffon in a way that Chip can see, clings to them in a way it doesn’t to him.
The Hole in the Sea is cold, and it welcomes Chip home.
Despite his desperation, Chip can't seem to get this damn compass working, and Gillion is erring ever closer to breaking his oath outright to prove how much he cares. Gryffon stays by their side, and they keep moving in search of Drey, Arlin, and- hopefully, eventually- a way out.

Summary
There’s a word for things that are star-shaped; cells throughout our bodies, sand dollars, the core of an apple sliced across its middle, and the stars themselves. So when you look at the night sky, and see the points of light we are so lucky to observe, know that someone decided that- despite it being so rarely seen- the shape of our stars was worth describing.
When William looks at Vyncent, he can feel what people felt when they decided to name the constellations after the things they knew and loved, or perhaps, feared. Every star-shaped cell inside William’s body was built to endure this ache, and he relishes in the glow-in-the-dark stars that watch their every move in Vyncent’s dorm, even as they fade with every passing hour. There’s something between them, and neither of them can deny it anymore. It’s something small, something blooming and radiating- something stellate.

Summary
“Niklaus wasted his favor.” Gillion said dully. “Because if it happened again, if I had to do it all over, I’d do the same thing.”
“What was the choice, Gil?” Chip asked, urgency and dread pouring into his voice, pulling it down. “Why did you look at me?”*****
Gillion gave up everything for Chip. He and Chip talk about it.

Summary
The dopplegänger slams into the door again, and again, thud, thud, thud, thud, and then-
Gillion’s face comes into view in the small window in the door. It doesn’t look smug, or angry. It looks worried, and a little confused. Like it was innocently concerned about a small misunderstanding.
“Chip,” and God, it sounds just like him, “could you open the door?”
Or; Chip locks himself in a fortified room, and Dopple-Gillion tries to convince him to open the door.

Summary
They’re standing entirely too close to each other in front of the hotel desk when the clerk asks them whether they’d like a double, twin, or two singles, and Martin absolutely bottles it.
‘Uh,’ he says, at exactly the same time as Jon says, ‘Oh.’
———
There’s a conversation that Martin and Jon need to have after the Lonely. Unfortunately, they are - historically - fairly terrible at putting stuff into words.
