Summary
“You speak about the announcement as if it were your execution,” Vincent jokes, though there is no malice or reproach in his voice. Just compassion.
“Perhaps,” Thomas confesses, so low Vincent can barely make it out, “Perhaps it is.”

Bookmarker's Notes
This has an amazing characterisation of both Thomas and Vincent. Thomas as a pope is exactly the level of tortured you'd expect of him.
The passages from the book of ruth are used beautifully.

Summary
The comparison might seem to come from nowhere to some, and Varys certainly isn't going to the first one to make it aloud. Lord Baelish is but a minor lackey of the treasury, whereas he – still – is Master of Whispers. Some would say there is no reason to think of the two in the same league at all.
But Varys knows better.

Summary
“Right. And how do you feel when you talk to this guy? Just checking.”
“Is this really necessary?”
“I’m afraid it is.”
He breathes in. “I don’t know, if he doesn’t come to class because he can’t move his shift around it’s a disappointment, the one time we went for drinks after it because we’re apparently on a first name basis now, I could barely drink because my entire stomach was clenching on itself all the time but not in a bad way, when he handed me my glass in the pub my fingers brushed against his and I’m not going to tell you what I spent the entire ride back home thinking because you don’t deserve to be subjected to that, too, and I don’t know, I left my nine month old daughter with him when I barely knew his damned name, what else should I even say now?”
Jon takes another sip of tea. “Congratulations,” he says, “you’re really into this guy.”
Stannis wants to die inside.
“And there’s nothing bad about it.”
Or: in which archaeology TA Stannis Baratheon has to juggle teaching a class he hates, being a single father and having fallen for the university's janitor who also attends his classes.

Bookmarker's Notes
One of the best fanfic I've read in that word range. You can really feel the instant connection between Davos and Stannis. Stannis struggling as a single dad is executed so well and his problematic relationships with his brothers are on point. Davos' experience being from the working class is in the spotlight and handled very well. I have re-read this more than once and it is absolutely worth it.

A Pride&Prejudice AU with Stannis as Darcy and Davos as Elizabeth... I don't know how this started but what began as a funny idea in my head may have accidentally turned into an epic sweeping romance. Oops.

Bookmarker's Notes
Do yourself a favour and read it. Please.
It's such a lovely story that is written with great detail. All the characters behave exactly like in canon which makes this feel like an extension of the already existing asoiaf world. A great read for everyone who loves the Baratheon family dynamic and a lot of character introspection. The dialogue in this has such a wonderful flow and made me feel so may things at once.
