Summary
Huddersfield Town AFC has been languishing in League One for far too long. Hiring local lad Pat Butcher as their new manager is the latest in a line of doomed attempts by the board at reinvigorating the club.
Upon walking in the door, Pat finds more problems waiting for him than he could’ve anticipated, the worst of which is undoubtedly a Captain who’d been expecting to become player-manager, and who isn’t too happy at being pipped to the post.

Summary
“The further in he walked, the harder it became to see, and so the Captain stopped, swallowing expectantly, and squinted into the darkness. In a beam of moonlight, he saw the flash of an unnaturally pale hand. It had thick, elongated, black nails that reminded him of the hooked claws of an animal. Not a moment later, he saw a familiar face peering out at him from the shadows, growing nearer as Thomas stalked him through the darkness.”
The Captain’s health takes a sudden, drastic nosedive as he begins to have strange, unsettling dreams — or are they? As he loses his grip on reality, he becomes convinced that the mysterious stranger newly entered into his midst, a certain Thomas Thorne, is somehow involved in his predicament.
