"Sorry to bring you up here...I've been having nightmares lately and I don't want to sleep alone tonight."
If it was anyone but her wanting her to stay with them because of a nightmare, Jude would have laughed in their face, called them a baby, that sort of thing. But it was Agnes, pure, sweet Agnes who got scared a little too easily and honestly, Jude didn't mind if she acted like a baby sometimes. It didn't make her any less the Lightless Flame incarnate.
So instead of laughing she offered her hand, the first time she could do so without it burning her flesh (not that it had ever stopped her) "You have me for as long as you need, then."
Despite the years she'd spent in Agnes' service before this moment, Jude had no idea what she was in for.
