Summary
Light is the victim of a brutal assault and finds himself spiralling into a state of despair as he grapples with the violation of his autonomy, pride, and God-complex. To cope with this Light does what he does best and manipulates the rules of the Death Note, using them to put him out of his misery whilst maintaining his innocence for the sake of his family, and of course, to claim victory over L.

So he's staring at me, right, and I am a person again for the first time in months. His gun is cold in my mouth. It feels nice; my throat hurts a lot these days and the metal makes my spit cold too when I swallow it. He's terrified, of course, because that insecurity is still inside him waiting to rot. He's pathetic. That's always been one of my favourite things about him. Normally that would be because it makes him easy to use, but nothing at all is complicated right now. I like him pathetic and I have no reason for it.
