Nino's fairly fast. He's faster now than he used to be, and he's way more acrobatic. He knows he could climb the rough walls on either side of the alley, given a chance.
Like the kind of chance he could maybe get by throwing a bait wallet down the alleyway past knife guy.

The dragon was shivering in his hands, and the ground was turning crimson even though there was nothing red in the End other than the sword he was holding, and there was a low, distorted chuckle echoing around him, in his ears, resonating in his skull.
The dragon dissolved into white light and the floor fell from under him, and Pixl came back to himself with a hoarse yell.
There was no sword in his hand, but his skin was still burning- he’d put it into the droplets of hot wax when he grabbed at the ledge, and he cradled it to his chest as he leaned against the Vigil, trying to breathe.
He was going to be too late.

Pixl was drifting with nothing to hold onto, and time was slipping through his fingers like the finest of sand.
It wasn’t an unfamiliar sensation by any means- by now, he was old enough that he could almost tease out the edges of the vision, recognize the feeling of disconnect where this wasn’t quite present, feel the tumultuous rise and fall of the vision trying to drag him under and know it didn’t, on its own, have the power to drown him.
He hadn’t really struggled to differentiate present from future from past since he was young and inexperienced- aside from occasional bouts of disorientation, he could usually remember where and when he was.
