Summary
For the first time since starting at PTMC, Jack Abbot hesitated. Langdon and Whitaker were continuing their hurried workups, calling out their findings, seemingly oblivious to their attending frozen next to the gurney. They didn’t see the way he shook, they didn’t see the way his mouth opened and closed as words failed, they didn’t see his blank stare. He couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t think. The world felt too loud, too hectic, too painful. Because right in front of Jack Abbot, lying lifeless on the gurney covered in blood and road burns was Michael Robinavitch.
