After a while, when Qiao Ling had left them and the living room was silent once more, Cheng Xiaoshi reclaimed his spot on the couch with a sigh, arms over the backrest and behind Lu Guang’s head. He looked at the picture, then at Lu Guang, before looking at the picture once more.
“Are you ready?” Lu Guang asked, keeping an eye on his wrist watch.
“How come you didn’t ask me to dance?” Cheng Xiaoshi pouted.
Lu Guang blinked. “You… wanted me to?”
A new case, soft feelings aaaaaaaand... a ring? Just not in the way you think.

Originally, Lu Guang had the bottom bunk. Although Cheng Xiaoshi had conceded it (with minimal grace), it was difficult to say that the bed was well and truly Lu Guang’s. This is because Cheng Xiaoshi seized every possible opportunity to occupy the bed, with or without Lu Guang in it.

Cheng Xiaoshi acted without thinking things through once more; after whining childishly for a goodnight kiss, he pulled at Lu Guang’s wrist, suggesting, “Sleep with me?”
Lu Guang hesitated for a few beats, then gave him a small nod, ears glowing pink. “I’ll get my pillow.”
This is how Cheng Xiaoshi finds himself in this predicament – both of them lying side by side in a bunk barely big enough to accommodate them, flat on their backs, unmoving and silent. And Cheng Xiaoshi finally feels it – the nervousness.

“You know that’s not what I meant.” Wei Ying rubs, hard, at the spot between his eyebrows. All of a sudden, he’s looking very tired again. “If your mother finds out you’re here—”
“Let me worry about my own mother,” Jiang Cheng snaps back. “If you’re so anxious to get me out the door, I’m happy to oblige. Just tell me what the Lans have on you so that I can fix it.”
Wei Ying has shifted slightly out of Lan Zhan’s line of sight again. But Lan Zhan can imagine the face he’s making from the sound of his voice.
“Uh,” Wei Ying says. “What?”

Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi probably should’ve asked, because now that he thought about it, Lu Guang was rather vague as to who exactly he would be possessing. When he heard the words one of the client’s children, he just assumed Lu Guang meant a teenager, or an elementary kid, or at the very least, a preschooler.
Not the top-heavy, chubby sack of fat of a 6-month-old infant.
A fic that started with the idea of Cheng Xiaoshi possessing a baby for the first time, until it turned into something a little more.
