He is, unfortunately, reminded of it the very next day, when the door slams open and Al-Haitham stalks in. “Mind telling me why everyone was congratulating me today?” he demands. “About your pregnancy?"
Or: Al-Haitham is, without a doubt, the most annoying person Kaveh knows. Maybe the world’s second-most annoying person can help Kaveh figure him out.

It’s not that he minds Kaveh’s presence. That would be a strong word. Loaded. Inappropriate. Legally actionable. He does not mind. He endures. Like one endures humidity, or philosophy undergraduates.
But lately—
Lately, he’s been noticing things.
Terrible, stupid things. Like the way Kaveh’s hair curls slightly when it’s humid. Like the sound he makes when he stretches in the morning, a sort of vocal sigh that is frankly illegal. Like the way he chews on pen caps when thinking. Like the way he doesn’t chew on Alhaitham’s pen caps because he loses those completely and that is a separate matter of litigation. Like the way he talks with his hands and wears sleeveless shirts and leaves the window open and smells like sandalwood and construction dust.
It’s annoying.
Or, how Alhaitham learned the hard way that data charts cannot protect you from feelings.

He simply says, “Because our cute little establishment will be using the name and image of a brand owned by the IPC, that’s why.”
“What? Since when does McRonald’s belong to the IPC?”
Or: in an attempt to entertain herself and satisfy her cravings for grease, Stelle decides to open the first ever fast food joint in Amphoreus' history, thus deviating from the tragic path destiny had in store for everyone. feat: Phaidei Shipper Castorice, Chef Stelle, Waiter Phainon in a too tight apron, Down Bad Mydei, Little Ica, Tired Semi Accountant Dan Heng and plenty of unhinged jokes.

Even if it seemed like such a funny idea at first, considering how Lighter didn’t have a dearth of dating options, it was difficult not to look too deeply when Wise was often on the receiving end of such sweetness.
