Adjustments will have to be made. Reaction times calibrated. Kiyoomi steps back again, what he hopes is an unnoticeable amount.
“The germ thing,” Kiyoomi repeats. Atsumu—headstrong, think-never Atsumu—hesitates. Kiyoomi briefly entertains the thought that he is trapped in a lucid dream.

Summary
“Sakusa and Ushijima got a spread in Vogue Japan,” Barnes says, a knowing smirk on his face, and Atsumu’s good mood tanks like the Titanic.
He furiously flips through the magazine until he finds the offending pages. The pièce de résistance is a side shot of Ushijima on some clear plastic ottoman, legs outstretched with Sakusa standing between them. His hands are wrapped around Sakusa’s thighs and Sakusa is tilting Ushijima’s chin up. It’s the eyes that do it, though - there’s something ineffable, something smoldering, about the way they gleam. Atsumu doesn’t know if it’s love or something markedly south of that, but he knows neither man has the acting chops to fake that.
“Disgusting,” Atsumu grumbles, throwing the magazine down on the bench.

There are a few unavoidable truths in Atsumu's world. One: Osamu is his punishment from a past life. Two: calling his ma every Sunday is vital for his sanity. Three: Sakusa Kiyoomi and Ushijima Wakatoshi are soulmates. End-game. Matching puzzle pieces.
Atsumu can't help but wonder if he fits, too.
