Summary
Reaching out, he places his hand on Ishimaru's cheek, wondering if his pain will bleed into his palm so he can take it away from him. That does not happen. Ishimaru simply nuzzles into it with a low hum, closing his eyes for the last time tonight.
Ishimaru survives Yamada's attack, survives the hammer that is plunged into his back, at the cost of the muscle function in both of his legs. As he tries to adjust to his newfound life he finds himself stuck, but Owada is there to tend to his needs.

He startled as he felt Patrolcus’ cool hand against his flushed skin. “You seem tense, darling.” He frowned, running his palm across Achilles’ arm soothingly.
“I know,” He sighed. “I always have a hard time relaxing after shifts, but I assure you I am fine.” Though he felt the small ache as he reached his arm up to brush the hair that had fallen across Patroclus’ beautiful face.
After returning from his shift, Achilles is tense and Patroclus aids him with the tender care he needs to feel at ease again.

Patroclus was silent, his chest rising and falling slowly. He almost regretted asking when he felt his hand clutch his back. “I do not know.” He finally said.
“It’s getting easier though. Maybe not everyday, but the growth is promising. I have you. I have Pyrrhus. That’s enough to keep me going. That will always be enough.”
It has been two years since the war ended, and Achilles and Patroclus are navigating their new lives in peace and as parents. But peace does not always mean freedom, because they remain to be plagued by nightmares and their trauma.
