Summary
As Connor lives out his first few months in Detroit, things go from bad to worse. He takes orders from the wrong people but follows through. He gets torn between what's right and wrong, and gets lost in a world of emotion.
Markus, who has an undying love for people is unable to give up the idea that they are ultimately good. He's questioned, and belittled and put in the position of leader simply because he's willing to take a chance. But he doesn't know how to lead, nor does he really want too.
Connor must choose a side, and Markus must quickly learn what it takes to be a leader. Despite their struggles, they'll have to somehow manage to pull through and quite possibly find it easier to breathe when they're together.

Summary
The free androids of Detroit start building their brand-new future, but peace is only relative in the troubled times that follow a revolution. One of the major figureheads of the revolution and finally a deviant, Connor now has to learn how to handle free will. The AI that both guided and punished him is gone, but at a price, and he struggles with his newfound freedom when guilt and fear are the crumbling foundations of his new life.
They say they want him there with them, but Connor can't understand why. He's afraid of himself and what he's capable of, afraid that maybe these feelings don't have their place within him.
Despite all the doubts he may have, Connor finds that he desperately wants to live, because whenever he feels himself slipping and falling, they're here to catch him.

Summary
Connor is a young opera singer whose career is strictly dictated by his evil manager, Amanda, so that he can become the best countertenor singer ever. She’d do anything for him to reach the top. Anything.
After settling in Detroit, Connor meets Hank, a drum teacher in his new school. Hank might look rough but, in truth, he’s a big teddy bear inside, and it breaks his heart to see Connor waste away his youth like this.
To remedy that, he introduces our sweet Connor to an old student of his: Markus.
Will Markus sucessfully deviate Connor from the boring path Amanda has set for him? Will Amanda allow Connor to be distracted without fighting back?

"You want to know what I think?" North snarls. "I don't trust you. You worked with humans to hunt us down, you've shot us, murdered us in cold blood just like they did-"
"North, calm down." Markus's voice is gentle but firm and unyielding. It's an order cleverly disguised as a suggestion, but an order nevertheless. "He's one of us now. His past doesn't define him, just as your past doesn't define you."
Connor, despite not knowing much about the past of the WR400, sees that the statement causes her to pause. She falters, and he believes that she's finished. But no. Her expression twists into something cruel and her next words drip venom. "He's not one of us. His eyes are dead. Like a machine." North stalks up to him, pupils glittering as she gets right in his face. "What are you really?"
The brunette stares at her. Tilts his head to the side. Shows off his LED, how the light emitting from it is an honest blue. "I am deviant."

Or: Connor is recruited by Josh to be Markus's personal bodyguard. He gets the task of keeping him alive, figuring out if other deviants are somehow still being controlled by Cyberlife, and discovering what feelings are. It's fun! Kind of.
