Summary
Everyone had their own reaction to Eel pox, or at least their own version of common tropes. It was nothing to be excited about, but when the sickness did hit the island—they couldn’t help but wonder what their own or someone else’s Eel-self was like.
When the entire village gets infected and is forced to stay inside, Stoick is met with a surprise from his sickly son, who hadn’t had the sickness besides one time when he was young.

Summary
Fontaine’s ocean stretches nearly as far as the eye can see. The tips of the Palais Mermonia and Opera Epiclese protrude from the water like forgotten bath toys against a backdrop of mountain and sky. The same view had greeted them every morning for four days. This one is no different.

The floodwater does not drain from Fontaine immediately. Instead, the land remains swallowed for weeks following the prophecy, and its residents try to adjust to a new way of living.
