“Don’t lie to me, Rumi, you keep looking around,” He says, voice firm but gentle. “I hate it when your attention isn’t on me—especially when I’m kissing you.” He grins. “What is it? The patterns?”
“Why are we glowing?” She whispers.
Jinu smiles softly. “I don’t know, but…as far as I’m concerned, you’re just as beautiful with the cracks showing.”
He pulls her closer to him. “Can we go for another round?” He asks.
It’s so funny how Jinu is so capable of bringing her voice back and then taking it away in a heartbeat. Rumi finds that her vocal cords don’t work, so she nods her consent instead.

Kaveh punches him weakly, a rare act from the architect, who treasures his hands like a family heirloom. Yet Alhaitham makes no motion to move.
“Fine! I’ll say what you want to hear and then you’ll have to go, alright? You were—you were right. I shouldn’t have designed the Palace of Alchazarzaray. I should have rejected the more unreasonable clients.”
His breath hitches uncontrollably and there’s something damp on his cheek. Is it the rain? He tries to check, but his limbs feel unresponsive. He sees Alhaitham’s lips move slowly, and time seems to stop before everything turns dark.
At least he doesn’t have to hear Alhaitham’s gloating words.

He finally acknowledged her presence with a brief glance, and Amellia found herself transfixed by his cold, blue eyes…they seemed somewhat reserved, and yet so full of an inner richness…and in that moment, Amellia couldn’t help but wonder what thoughts lay hidden behind those eyes.
It wasn’t really fair, was it? That he stood privy to her every word and whim while she knew virtually nothing about him?
She sighed. She always knew that it was going to be an unrequited love. But despite all the odds, she couldn't stop herself from being drawn to him.
She supposed that was what love was. An inexplicable attraction. A force acting against all reason, a pull transcending logic.
Defying rationality, rewriting common sense…almost just like her story books.
