Fitz is left holding his sister alone in Keefe Sencen's bedroom.
The semester has just started, so Keefe must've unpacked only around a week ago. Still, everything looks too similar to how it had been before. Fitz remembers the titles on the spines of those books. He remembers the pile of completed papers that Keefe lets build up by his desk, throwing them all out at once after finals. He remembers Keefe's bed, those pillows, those sheets, how soft they feel against bare skin.
Fitz didn't ever want to come back to the SigChi house, much less this exact room. He looks at Biana, exhausted. "The things I do for you."

"Oh no," he says, instinctively rushing towards Keefe. He grabs Keefe's arm, and for once, he's not hyperanalyzing how easily his fingers curve around it. "Are you okay? Did the glass cut you?"
"Fuck," Keefe says, sounding dazed.

This is the only time Keefe allows himself to stare. Fitz is distracted, and Keefe's sunglasses hide where he's looking anyway. No one notices how he drinks in these fleeting moments, when it's just the two of them, when Keefe can pretend it'll always be just the two of them. Lately, he's been thinking about it more often. Enough that it scares him.
Fitz puts his book down, and Keefe hurriedly returns to staring up the sky. It's very blue.
"Hey, Keefe, hand me the sunscreen? I think it's time to reapply."
