Summary
Too good for hell, but not welcome in heaven unless he renounces his demon, the Powers That Be don't have a place for Spike after everyone dies at the end of 'Not Fade Away.' So they create a realm for him and others like him. Only... it's actually just him alone.
Meanwhile, Buffy quits slaying after she gets word of what happened in Los Angeles and embraces the normal life. Dawn does just the opposite and starts to explore her dormant Key powers. She plays it safe, astrally projecting just her spirit into other dimensions while she learns. As she grows stronger, she guides herself easily to what she wants to see or experience, like a world with beautiful gardens or diamonds raining from alien skies.
One day she sends her spirit out in search of love... and finds Spike alone in his realm, where time moves at a different pace. The two recapture their friendship, and Dawn sends her spirit to visit his regularly. She doesn't think her sister really cared about Spike, so she never bothers telling her. Buffy looked up at that, her brows furrowed.
“Huh?”
Dawn slid a piece of paper across the island, the edges slightly curled where it had been held in her hand. Written in Xander’s wide loopy capitals was RICHARD 555-6716.
“Prove it,” Dawn repeated.
Dawn has had enough of her sister slinking around behind everyone’s backs with Spike. No more hiding, it’s time to bring it all out into the… well, not quite “light”, but you get the idea.
What better way to do that, than by setting Buffy up on some truly disastrous dates until she cracks?

... It's a duck.
There's just a tiny bit of magic floating around after Willow ends the Will be Done spell, and it turns the resident captive vampire into a duckling. And he's so adorably angry about it. Question is now... who's going to take care of duckling!Spike? Oh, it's Buffy, of course.
But Spike being a duck doesn't mean everything else goes away. He's got a new perspective, and over time, so does Buffy. Changes to Season 4 grow as time goes on.
I'm sure someone's written something like this before, but I got the idea and here we are. The plot also started to happen, and now I can't stop it.

This is what happens when Gort feeds one of Sunalso's plot bunnies after midnight. I wrote it, she beta'd it, and there might have been wine involved.
This is an entirely Spuffy fic, even though I had to slap that threesome tag on it. (Spike's Demon/Buffy/William) The only other warning is that I'm not very nice to Angel in this story.

With a sick mother and a hell god after her, Buffy accepts another truce when Spike offers it. It starts small, but over time their truce builds until other things develop, things like trust, peace, and maybe even love.
On Hiatus: I don't like doing this, but because "On the Run" and this fic are both season 5, the streams were kind of crossing in my brain, in terms of where both Spike and Buffy are, character-wise. I want to keep these fics unique, so I will return to this after "On the Run" is complete. This is not abandoned. I love writing it too much.

Instead of the Winnebago, Buffy agrees to the Porsche, but it turns out the road trip is just the start of the adventure. Confronted with living in close quarters and having to adjust to a different dynamic, Buffy finds herself coming to terms with the changes Spike is attempting to make in himself. Meanwhile, Spike is struggling with those changes, but knows he can't stop loving her. All the while, there's still a Hell God out there, and they'd both die to protect Dawn.
Both Buffy and Spike know this won't end well, they just have no idea what that will look like.

At fifteen, Ava already had a major crush on Angel, so had done her best to simply avoid Perfect Tiny Buffy Summers while she was in town. She only committed harder to the avoiding once Ava and Angel became . . . whatever they are.
'Whatever we were,' Ava corrects herself. 'Past tense.'
And now here she is, the summer after sophomore year, sitting down across from Buffy Summers at the greasy little restaurant by the mall.

Written for an EF writing prompt:
Before Buffy jumped to her death in “The Gift”, she slept with Spike. When Willow resurrects her, she essentially re-animates Buffy’s dead cells – including Spike’s sperm, traces of which are still in her body.
In other words, not only does the spell resurrect her, but it also gets her pregnant.
