He fell in love with Illumi the first time they met as teens. The same love he always had upon meeting a curiously powerful stranger. The only real difference, with Illumi, was that Hisoka never had him the way he had other beloved strangers. Because Illumi Zoldyck wasn’t someone to have. After all, the Zoldyck name meant he belonged to someone else. His family. His father. His mother.
Hisoka couldn’t place a hand upon Illumi, even if his fingers twitched in desire every time they met. So Hisoka loved Illumi from afar. The same way he loved dozens of others.
And then Illumi died.
