He lingers on the imperceptible twitch of Rhys's fingers. They're decorated in chrome and silver instead of gunmetal and gold. The differences between the Rhys before him and the one in his memory are stark. Jarring. And Jack wants to imprint it all to memory.

Jack’s grin falters. He takes a breath. It’s not unlike the lingerie advertised in the catalogs he’d perused for Rhys's clothes. It's not satin, like he’d initially thought, but a sheer chiffon night dress. Lace trim elevates the delicate piece into something sophisticated; something he would not complain about seeing Rhys wearing. However, it's not the negligee itself that gives him pause, but the color: an unmistakable shade of crimson.

Jack has a growing affinity for a certain outfit from Rhys's time as an acolyte. Given Rhys’s history with the church, Jack thought it best to keep his mouth shut.
