Zuko is stressed.
Which is understandable, even goes without saying—Sokka's fiancé is juggling the responsibilities of being the Fire Lord, the two different wedding ceremonies they're planning, and the crotchety, close-minded politicians he's slowly weeding out of his council, all on top of the seemingly never-ending mountain of paperwork that is permanently fixed to his desk.
Sokka finds that Zuko's stress usually presents itself in mindless, physical habits. He bites at his lips, nails, the ends of his hair, anything within reach that he can slip between his teeth. It doesn't stop at biting, though, Zuko will suck the tip of his finger or a stylus into his mouth and rub against his gums. He keeps hard candies in his robes, painstakingly rolling them around in his mouth, and suckling at them until they're nonexistent

Thousands of lit windows filled with tens of thousands of people finishing up their evenings and getting ready for bed. He wondered how many of them were happy and in love; how many were resigned to relationships without love; how many were alone. "Seriously, though. I'm done."
"With dating? You won't last a month."
"I'm tired, Shoko. It's not good for me. And we're in our mid-thirties now. Anyone quality is already in a relationship." Satoru cracked his soda open, slumping down on the couch and tipping the bottle toward his mouth. Fruity sugar coated his tongue, but it failed to cheer him. "No one's left but undateable disasters."

And even worse than that; the compilation was sent as a watch recommendation in Uzumaki Naruto's chat.
Sasuke has been obsessed with a certain streamer for months, though he would never admit that to anyone beyond his friend group. So what? It's not his fault that the guy's a fucking dream. And he'd been comfortable in the discomfort of the situation, glad to just carry that secret with him until this fixation either died or moved onto someone else.
That was, of course, until said guy discovered his existence.

Summary
Suguru clears his throat, puts down his notes, and explains, “Satoru doesn’t date.”
And that stings a little. It hurts. Because it means that Suguru’s noticed he’s never really gone out with anyone before, that he’s very much aware of Satoru’s lack of experience here. He’s noticed and done nothing about it, which -
“Well, gotta start some time, yeah?” Satoru jokes, covering up his discomfort with a laugh he hopes doesn’t sound too fake. “Better late than never.”
Shoko laughs, waving a hand at him as she goes back to her textbook - which is more or less what Satoru expects, very much used to her casual indifference to his antics at this point in their continued association.
What he doesn’t expect is the way that Suguru freezes; he is entirely unprepared for the way that Suguru goes very, very still, those warm brown eyes that Satoru loves so much going dark with what he thinks is dismay.
“Are you… are you serious?” he asks, his voice small. “You have a date?”
Satoru blinks. “Um, yeah.”
“With who?”
Satoru makes an assumption about Suguru and Shoko's relationship. Things get very messy, very fast.
